Fandom: Star Ocean (she's in every game, technically kind of)

Time Period: Before the final battle! Also, assuming Star Ocean IV hasn't happened for her yet (her appearances seem to be chronological--she went from III, to I, to II)

Personality:
Welch is one of the most obnoxious girls you’ll ever meet. She’s opinionated, and she likes to force her opinion on everyone. At one point, she even drags a man to buy boy’s love comics. She doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind, ever, and tends to get away with whatever it is she tries to try. She’s also boy-crazy. She’ll hit on any hunk. She doesn’t care if they’re brawny or brainy...or if they’re taken. No, the chase makes it all the more fun. She used to hit on Claude’s dad all the time just to upset Ilia. It’s all a game to her.

She’s also a schemer and, unfortunately, a genius inventor much like Leon and Precis. She doesn’t try out her products herself, though. She forces Roddick to drink a love potion at one point that knocks him out, and later she creates a mess that causes everyone to swap bodies except for her. When she wants something, she’ll do everything she can to get it. While she’s ambitious, though, she likes getting others to do the work for her. Conning men into carrying her bags is a frequent pastime of her.

Welch is also a hopeless romantic. While she may hit on every man in sight, she does believe in love, and likes to talk about love stories with others. If Rena is the main character in Star Ocean 2, she’s actually disappointed that a man wasn’t there to catch her after randomly falling from the sky...but she quickly turns the conversation into a talk about heroes and love stories (and then forces her way into the party, breaking the 4th wall if you don’t let her). She’s completely eccentric. She has her own style to everything she does, whether it’s fighting with her genius Handy Stick or just conversing with the party and playing games.

So, Welch is obnoxious...but she joins the party! She’s not a completely horrible person. She has a soft spot for children, and after spending all of the first PSP game getting the party to hate her she manages to make friends in the second, specifically Precis F. Neumann, Rena Lanford, and Claude. She’s a bit childish for her age...when she’s not taunting the enemy hardcore, she’ll yell things like “Run away, run away!” or “Goodbye kids!” as she runs away from a battle (despite having more combat experience than most of the Star Ocean cast).
